DMW and Phil Embassy Bahrain Recognize 14 Bahraini Recruitment Agencies for Complying with USD 500 Minimum Monthly Wage for Filipino Domestic Workers

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Philippine Embassy in Manama, Bahrain, recognized 14 Bahraini recruitment agencies for their laudable efforts in implementing in the Kingdom of Bahrain the newly prescribed USD 500 minimum monthly wage for Filipino domestic workers. The DMW and our Philippine Embassy likewise conveyed its appreciation to the host government for facilitating an environment that enables employers and recruitment agencies to comply with applicable labor standards.

The recognition certificates were awarded to said agencies by DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac, Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Gines Jaime Ricardo Gallaga, OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan and Labor Attache Orville Ballitoc during the “Alagang OWWA Caravan” and Hala Bira Fiesta Season 3 in Bahrain held on January 30, 2026. Witnessing the ceremony included DMW Undersecretary Jun Rasul, Assistant Secretary Julyn Ambito-Fermin and the members of the various Filipino community organizations in Bahrain.

The 14 agencies include the following: Al Raed Employment; Abu Muneer Manpower; Ahmadi Manpower; Alhanoona Employment; Aljenaid Manpower Services; Alkawther Line Manpower;

Havana Manpower; Maraeem Manpower W.L.L.;

Nabaa Manpower; Pegasus Manpower; Perfect Manpower; Promise Gate Manpower W.L.L.;

Staffer Manpower; and Valor Manpower.

The event underscored the constructive partnership between the Philippine government and Bahraini recruitment agencies in promoting fair, ethical, and transparent employment practices. This development marks another milestone in the continued effort to safeguard the rights and welfare of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), consistent with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure decent wages, humane working conditions, and the fair treatment of Filipino migrant workers abroad.

To date, Bahrain adds up to the growing list of OFW destination countries in the Middle East, and GCC in particular, whose recruitment agencies have implemented the new minimum monthly salary and assisted employers to effect the increase in the minimum monthly salaries of their domestic workers.
