DMW Welcomes the New Medical Center Chief of OFW Hospital
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) welcomes Dr. Servando Sergio DC. Simangan as the new Medical Center Chief of the OFW Hospital after he officially assumed his post on January 21, 2026.
Dr. Simangan has over 34 years of experience as a vascular surgeon at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI). His extensive clinical expertise, leadership, and dedication to delivering excellent patient care make him a valuable addition to OFW Hospital. “I look forward to leading the OFW Hospital in providing excellent health care to the unique demographic of OFWs and their families, make it the best workplace for health care workers,” Dr. Simangan said.
Despite only three days in his new role, Dr. Simangan said he already feels the same fulfillment he experienced at NKTI and is starting to enjoy and love the responsibilities entrusted to him. “In the coming days, after observing and assessing the administrative side of the hospital, I will also be looking into the clinical side,” he added, while emphasizing that he is prepared to face the challenges he sees as opportunities.
